Basic & AIT training times
All new non-prior enlistees will attend 9
weeks of Army Basic Combat Training (BCT). Basic
training is conducted year around with only a two week
break during the Christmas and New Year season.
The enlistee will
also attend
Advanced Individual
Training (AIT) (unless
it is an OCS enlistment option) to learn their enlisted
job/ Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) skill and or
specialty.
This training
which can last any where from 4 - 56 weeks, or more
depending upon the skill. Most AIT training averages
13-17 weeks. NOTE: All may spend 1-2 weeks at the
Reception Station. This is located at their Basic
Training Site.

| Get Motivated: Yes! Drill Sergeant |
 |
|
Mixed in with the yelling
and the screaming, there will be many things you truly
enjoy. You will attend classes on military history and rank
structure. You will learn how to properly shoot the M16A2
and throw hand grenades. Drill sergeants will teach you how
to march like a soldier and how to properly wear the new
U.S. Army Army Combat Uniform (ACU). The most important
thing you will learn is how to work as a team.

Physical Training (PT)
Standards:
*This is the Physical
Training Standards for all U.S. Army Physical Fitness
Training (APFT) test. A soldier is required to pass the
minimum standards in order to graduate Basic Combat Training
(BCT). A "National Guard Solider" is required to pass a
annual APFT.
