What is the guard recruiting assistance program
The Guard Recruiting Assistance Program (G-Rap) is a contracted program designed
for individuals who voluntarily apply online to become eligible to serve as a
part-time Recruiting Assistance (RA). The RA applicant will be verified
and hired by a contractor, not the Army National Guard (ARNG).
goals and purpose
The Army National Guard launches the Guard Recruiting Assistance Program (G-RAP)
to establish a position of strength form which the Guard can achieve its
accessions mission of 70,000 enlistments, and the Guard end-strength goal of
350,000.
- Currently only a National Guard soldier who is on traditional duty (one-weekend per month, two weeks per year) that can qualify to be a recruiting assistance (RA)
- Recruiting Assistants (RA) are certified subcontractor's from Docupak. Who do not represent the government at any time.
Who can't be a recruiting assistant (RA)?
- A National Guard soldier who is AGR, Mil Tech or on ADSW orders.
- A National Guard soldier who is currently mobilized
- Anyone else who is not a member of the National Guard on traditional duty
RA Duties and Responsibilities
- Contact the new recruit's RSP Coordinator/ Unit Readiness
- Take the new recruit to the first drill. (RSP/Unit)
- Maintain contact with the new recruit
- Provide support
- Help prepare the new recruit for "Basic" or adjustment to their new unit

If I am a member of the Guard and I am at a unit recruiting event, while on
drill status, do I get credit if I identify a potential soldier? No!
Can I perform the duties of the RA during drill weekend? No!
Can I do RA work while at drill or Annual Training (AT)? No!
Can I wear my uniform while I am doing RA work? No!
Can being a Recruiting Assistant affect my career in the Guard? No!
Is there a limit on how many people I can bring into the program? No!
What do I get paid?
New RA's are given 1000 Mission Zone points to spend at their own will.
How do I get paid? You can elect to be paid via direct deposit to your personal bank account, or you can receive a contractor-issued Directo debit card which will be credited upon each enlistment. (Note: RA's must be 18 years old to be issued a debit card). To find out more about Directo debit card visit: www.directo.net Who pays the taxes? You will receive an IRS 1099 form at the end of the year, and you are responsible for filing/reporting your income and any associated taxes. when can I start working as a recruiting assistant (RA)? Recruiting Assistants must be certified and agree to terms and conditions relating to ethical, moral, and legal behavior. In order to become a recruiting assistance individuals must successfully pass the online training course and once this process is completed, the information will be reviewed and notification will be made within 24 hours.
